This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Growth are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the books of Leviticus and Numbers. They are: Mentored by God; Increase; A vow of dedication; and Hearing the words of God and seeing the visions of the Almighty.
Excerpts:
Mentored by God
“Hosea admonished: ‘let us know the Lord, let us pursue the knowledge of God (Hosea 2:20, 6:3).’ When it comes to knowledge we need to constantly seek renewal. There is more and more to know about God about his plans so that we can effectively walk with him.”
Increase
“Life emanates from God which is part of the fruitfulness arrangement. The disobedience of man in the Garden of Eden was, which means their spiritual potential shut down. What we should produce is the life of God, otherwise what we will produce will be ambition and not God’s mission. The Pharisees were said to produce disciples after their own image who became twice a candidate of hell as they are (Matthew 23:15). They had no life and therefore could only produce death, as the life is in Jesus (John 1:1-4).”
A vow of dedication
“The “no wine” defines the influence factor; the “length of hair” has to do with the time factor, while “not touching the dead” is the purity factor. Those are the measures with which your Christianity is measured.”
Hearing the words of God and seeing the visions of the Almighty
“If this understanding is settled in you, you will be ready to chew the meat of prophetic revelations (if God so pleases) (Hebrews 5:11-14), and divine inner promptings. God may or may never reveal himself to you in the audible voice, but you hear him in your mind, in strong impressions; you may not be taken to the third heavens in a trance, but you can see things with the eyes of your heart (see the direction God is pointing to within you) that is flooded with the light of the word of God.”
