Con questa nuova edizione, dall'impaginato elegante ed arricchito da fotografie e ricostruzioni di eccezionale qualità, il volume svela i contenuti del museo, che raccoglie una selezione dei più importanti reperti emersi dagli scavi dell'antica città ed è stato ideato per raccontare la fondazione di Lavinium attribuita ad Enea, l'eroe del poema virgiliano. Cinque le sale, ognuna dedicata ad un tema: Tritonia Virgo, al culto della dea Minerva Tritonia; Mundus Muliebris, alle acconciature ed ai gioielli femminili; Hic Domus Aeneae, al viaggio di Enea da Troia alle coste laziali; Civitas Religiosa al Santuario dei Tredici Altari, rinvenuto a sud di Lavinium; Aeneas Indiges, al monumento funebre dedicato al fondatore della città, l'Heroon di Enea. This is a museum of innovation, placed by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities on the list of innovative museums. The exhibits, set in a multimedia environment, reveal their story, absorbing and fascinating the visitor who enters into the spirit of the story itself. This new edition, with an elegant layout, includes high quality pictures and three dimensional plans. The catalogue explains in details the museum finds, that have been recovered from the excavations and displayed to tell the founding of Lavinium by the mythical hero Aeneas. Five rooms, each one centred on a different theme: Tritonia Virgo, dedicated to the cult of Minerva Tritonia; Mundus Muliebris dedicated to female hair styles and jewellery; Hic Domus Aeneae, dedicated to the voyage of Aeneas from Troy to the coasts of Latium; Civitas Religiosa dedicated to the Sanctuary of the Thirteen Altars, discovered in the southern area of Lavinium; Aeneas Indiges, dedicated to the funerary monument in honour of the founder of the city, the Heroon of Enea.
