This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of The Power of God are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore six topics, from different verses in the book of Acts of the Apostles. They are: Signs and wonders; Faith for perfect health, body and soul; Salvation; His chains fell off; The door of faith; and ‘What must I do to be saved?’
Excerpts:
Signs and wonders
“But signs and wonders are borne on the back of humility. Jesus the ultimate model of humility (Philippians 2:5-11), said that the signs and wonders should not make us feel special, but we are special because God has accepted us in him, our names in the book of life (Luke 10:20).”
Faith for perfect health, body and soul
“All these are important because faith is about what you look at. When Peter was looking at Jesus, he was able to walk on the sea but when he looked away from Him and started looking at the boisterous wind, he began to drown (Matthew 14:28-32).”
Salvation
“You are greater than John not because you have a bigger assignment than he does, but because you are part of the body of Christ and he is not (Ephesians 1:22-23), you are the bride of Christ and he is not (Ephesians 5:24-33), you are one with Christ and he is not. You are seated with Christ in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), being the possibility in the new birth through the words of salvation.”
His chains fell off
“Isaiah wrote that chains get broken when we are fat (Isaiah 10:27), and the Word of God is our spiritual bread, Jesus said that man shall not live by bread alone by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. That is how we get fat and when we become, yokes fall off automatically, whatever it is, from our necks. Malachi wrote that the Sun of righteousness will rise up and we shall grow up like fatted calf move out of the stall and tread on the enemy (Malachi 4:1-3).”
The door of faith
“He takes us into further experience with God. Through the experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, subsequent to salvation, we have the possibility of being filled many times with the Holy Spirit, for the purpose of witnessing (Acts 1:8), empowerment and manifestation of gifts (1Corinthians 12:1-11), together with speaking with new tongues (Acts 19:1-7).”
‘What must I do to be saved?’
“Just as to have your spirit and body saved, you when you believe Jesus, you will have your soul on the path of being saved as you make the word of God the principle of its function, because the Holy Spirit impacts our soul through the word (John 6:63).”
