This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Life in the Spirit are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore five topics, from different verses in the books of Amos, Micah, Zechariah and Malachi. They are: Rain of fire; Infilling; What do you see?; The spirit of man within; and The Holy Spirit is the third Elijah.
Excerpts:
Rain of fire
“The fire we should express is not self-generated or self-defined it is as we are moved by the Holy Spirit, when two sons of Aaron had the wrong fire in the presence of God, they did not live to tell the story (Leviticus 10:1-2).”
Infilling
“The devil is called the adversary and God has not called us to lose out to his machinations but to be victorious. For that Paul said we should put on the whole armour of God praying with all manner of prayers in the spirit. Justice is about the will of God and to enforce it we need the expression of might. They go together.”
What do you see?
“This is similar to what Jesus told Nicodemus: that he saw him when he was still far from where he was (John 1:45-51). But he goes a step further revealing to him the kind of person he was, his seeing penetrated to his personhood.  He knows what was in man (John 2:25, Luke 6:8).”
The spirit of man within
“He did not become a life-giving spirit until he obeyed God in the sacrifice on the cross (Philippians 2:5-11). Obedience to God, causes the joy of the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17, 1Thessalonians 1:6) to bubble in you, in your spirit, in your heart.”
The Holy Spirit is the third Elijah
“Paul says that everyone can desire to prophecy (1Corinthians 14:1), it means everyone can be prophetic. For Elijah the 1st, it was one person who was prophetic; he was a one-man prophetic army. John, before the manifestation of Jesus, was a one man prophetic army. But now the potential army is every Christian by the operation of the Holy Spirit, who is Elijah the third.”
