This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of the Ministry of the Word are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the books of 1Chronicles and 2Chronicles. They are: Keeping the word of the Lord; The battle for truth; Promise and performance; and Finding God, finding man.
Excerpts:
Keeping the word of the Lord
“He declared that he was not disobedient to the heavenly vision (Acts 26:14-23). He was giving a word for God, a command from God, a mission from God and he ran with it, he counted the grievous persecution as small compared to the reward in heaven. He was a man with his eyes on eternity, which was why he kept the word of God no matter what. He was true to the revelations he had till he died.”
The battle for truth
“Our mandate is to reach the ends of the earth and bring people to the light of Christ (Colossians 1:13). That is the ongoing warfare, and the devil’s mandate is to defend his territory, by setting up the systems of this world in a way that blocks the free flow of the ministration of the gospel.”
Promise and performance
“When we declare the word of truth, our world begins to be aligned to it. And when your words align with the word of God, it attains creative power. God told Jeremiah: I have put my words in your mouth, and what you say have effect among the nations, bringing changes there, bring my will to pass (Jeremiah 1:9-10).”
Finding God, finding man
“The story of the lost son shows the disposition of the Father (Hebrews 12:9), that of the lost coin reveals the Holy Spirit, being the oil in the lamp (Acts 10:38), while Jesus is the quintessential shepherd (John 10). They are all involved in the process of finding lost man, since they were involved in the original making of man (Genesis 1:26-28).”
