This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Life in the Spirit are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the book of Isaiah. They are: The hand of the Lord; Ability; Holy Spirit; and The milk and wine experiences of the Holy Spirit.
Excerpts:
The hand of the Lord
“The focus verse shows what the hand of God means, it brooks no opposition. They melt, and nothing stands before him. But we need to align our mind to him, agree with his working, with his ability to work in our case, in our situation. He wants the best for us. And when he brings his hand into a situation, it is to change it. And we are the extension of his hands. He said that when we lay hands on the sick they will recover (Mark 16:15-18).”
Ability
“Jesus said that he wants the people to be his witness everywhere in the world, and he gives the supernatural ability to make that positive impact, by the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8), helping them to express the divine life in a way that makes Jesus’ manifest, though he is not physical here.”
Holy Spirit
“The love expressed by the Spirit of God is the love expressed in power. Jesus was a man of love, and his expression of God was the expression of power (Acts 10:38). The bible says that faith works through love (Galatians 5:6). Paul wrote that if we have faith that can move mountain we are nothing, if not moved by love. The right motivation, the right colouration for our action is the love of God, anything else and we are not representing God but ourselves.”
The milk and wine experiences of the Holy Spirit
“The wine has control over your movement (motion) putting it in God’s control while the issue of the milk is about gaining stability and strength. Motion without stability and you fall, stability without motion and you are stuck, in a rot.”
