This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Spiritual Identity are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore five topics, from different verses in the books of 1Peter and 1John. They are: Born again through the resurrection of Jesus Christ; Called from darkness into light; Baptisms; God is light; and The Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
Excerpts:
Born again through the resurrection of Jesus Christ
“Since we cannot qualify for God’s favour by ourselves, Jesus became us and satisfied the demands of God’s anger, and because he qualified for resurrection, since he was sinless, we are qualified in him for resurrection by faith, in the order of Abraham, who believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness (Romans 4:1-9). Our faith in Jesus is accounted to us for identification with the death and resurrection of Jesus and we become born again through the resurrection of Jesus.”
Called from darkness into light
“From the sermon on the mount where Jesus called us the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16), saying we are “cities” set on a hill that cannot be hid, he showed that what he meant was the good works that we exhibit, saying we should go on in our good works which when the world see, they would give glory to God. The light they see will draw them to God (Isaiah 60:1-3).”
Baptisms
“Understand that both Jesus and the Holy Spirit are the gifts of the love of God to us. In John 3:16 we read that God loved the world and to express that love, he gave us his begotten son as sacrifice. So everything in the word is offered the son for salvation, but only those who have received the son now have the right to receive the Holy Spirit, which can be asked for. Jesus said we can ask our heavenly father for the Holy Spirit and he will give us (Luke 11:13).”
God is light
“Concerning being channels of light, the book of Hebrews said that while the recipients ought to be teachers helping others with the light of the knowledge of Jesus, they still needed to he taught, to be led into truth of the elementary things of Christ, and cannot handle the meat of the word (Hebrews 5:11-14). So it is expected that we should advance towards getting others into the light and not be the ones being on the perceptual receiving end.”

The Spirit of truth and the spirit of error
“And the evidence of truth is changed lives, if your life is not changing, then there is truth deficiency. The man described in the first chapter of the book of psalms was said to meditate on the word of God day and night, and the evidence is that his life was changed. He became like a tree planted by rivers of rivers of water.”
