To give a quick outlook on the paper: firstly we discuss the fundamentals required for computing semantic relatedness. After a definition of semantic relatedness as such, several example applications are presented. Then an introduction to linguistic resources used in the field is given. Secondly, we present a number of selected algorithms that compute semantic relatedness. These serve as examples for the usage of several linguistic resources such as dictionaries, lexical semantic networks and measures using the WWW. Thirdly, we discuss how the quality of methods for computing semantic relatedness can be assesed by comparison to human performance. Finally, an example study is presented. Seminar paper aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Informatik - Sonstiges, Note: 1,0, Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen (Seminar für Sprachwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: Text-oriented Applications of Computational Linguistics, 30 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis.
