This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Jesus are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore five topics, from different verses in the book of Genesis. They are: A prophecy, a name, a baptism and a cup- saved on account of Jesus’ righteousness; Was Jesus the Son of God from eternity past?; A priest in the order of Melchizedek; The wood, the fire and the knife: between Isaac and Jesus; and Reconciliation.
Excerpts:
A prophecy, a name, a baptism and a cup- saved on account of Jesus’ righteousness
“We are in the household of God on account of the righteousness of Jesus; we are saved from sin and its consequences because of his sacrifice, accepted in the beloved.”
Was Jesus the Son of God from eternity past?
“At that times we would be sons of God on a whole new level, the third level. For us, the incarnation stands for the new birth; the invasion stands for the baptism of the Holy Spirit; the translation, the gaining of the new bodies at the resurrection of the just, is what we await at the second coming of Jesus.”
A priest in the order of Melchizedek
“Thirdly the blood grants us permanent access into the throne of grace through the path of the mercy of God (Hebrews 4:14-16), which was paved by the blood of Jesus, so that our ongoing reality on this earth will be marked by the grace of God. The blood grants us the power of an ongoing individual relationship with the most high to anyone who appropriates it, through believing in Jesus. The blood allows us to have a relationship with God.”
The wood, the fire and the knife: between Isaac and Jesus
“And the cross is another symbol of devotion but the focus is on what you deny yourself of, devolve yourself from, while the fire is also a symbol of devotion, it is however focused on what you commit yourself in to as in God, in devotion, the thing you are doing, where you are going.”
Reconciliation
“Certain prophets and teachers in the church in Antioch were committed to prayer. On one of such occasions of fasting and prayer in Acts chapter 13, the Holy Spirit said that Barnabas and Paul must be separated to him for the work they should do. And that began a powerful reconciliation move of God that spread across many places. The point is that there is no doing any work of reconciliation without prayer. Even Jesus was soaked in prayer.”
